Ryanair - for once NOT to blame...
...for my stupidity as I missed my flight to Luton this afternoon. I wish I could blame it on Ryanair but it's all my own doing I'm afraid :(
Having been at Ian and Jenny's wedding in Carlow yesterday and feeling slightly worse for wear as I made my way back up to Dublin to catch my '3.45pm' flight I should have known that things weren't going my way when I forgot my Sony mobile with Claire's contact details. But I pressed on regardless, catching the Air Coach out to the airport through busy Friday afternoon traffic.
So thinking I had oodles of time I went through security and found myself staring at the departures board, an anxious glance saw no Luton Ryanair flight at 15.45 - but instead a flashing 'Now Boarding' at 14.45. I decided to go for it, and ran like a lunatic all the way to the end of the portacabin departure pier in Area A. I arrived to Gate 66 in a sweaty mess....just in time to see my plane gently taxi-ing towards the runway....well my language was not the choicest but that fact that I was wheezing after my long-distance run meant that I managed to offend no-one in my general vicinity.
So back out to the Ryanair desk to get another flight....for €200!! Decided that I would fly instead on the Saturday red-eye to Stanstead so am now back home after a 4 hour jaunt to the airport, tired, hungover and angry at myself for being such an idiot!
For once, Ryanair is not to blame, and at least Claire saw the funny side when she called to find out where the heck I was!

At least you made your flight home, my little bunny. Ours was right on time and uneventful. Love Maxjet! Start looking for flights over in the fall. :-) xoxoxox
