Pilates, sch-malites.....
...as I optimistically cycled down the mountain to Ballinteer Community School for my first ever Pilates class last Thursday. I was expecting it to be tough but after 50 minutes of non-stop stretching, leg lifts, stomach curls and discplined exhaling and inhaling I was tired but glad to have got through what I was told was an intermediate level class - so much for an easy introduction then. Cycling back up the mountain was fun too...especially as I had fixed everything on my bicycle except for the saddle height which was slightly too low....
...but following a trip down to K in Dun Laoghaire on Saturday, the saddle was adjusted and I was well able to haul my slightly sunbaked body home all the way up Newtownpark Avenue without too much hassle...
