Masterchef

I am addicted to Masterchef , a cookery competition running on BBC2. Basically, over a period of 8 weeks, 132 amateur chefs battle it out for the title of Masterchef and a chance to change their lives by becoming a professional chef. As my cuisine mantra is 'stick it in a wok and see what happens' I really do enjoy seeing lawyers, bus drivers and builders dishing up food to judges John & Greg every weekday evening at 6.30pm.

This week, last season's entrants are being given a chance to try again. I worried as John (sporting his Irish rugby jersey) fell apart under the pressure in the pro kitchen, but redeemed himself with a fab parsnip and coconut soup (do they work? apparently so!) in the final round. It's all so emotional....
