It wouldn't be St. Patrick's Day...
...without the weather being freezing cold with a smattering of hail and snow showers...yay for Spring! It certainly feels difficult to believe that the clocks go an hour forward next weekend in preparation for 'summer-time'.
I am currently in Aughrim enjoying the lovely home comforts. I have left the house only once since I got home on Saturday afternoon - how lazy is that? Mum and I popped out to view the new luxury development up at The BrookLodge in Macreddin Village. A mere €1.77 million gets you a cedar-built 4 bedroom, 5 bathroom dwelling with fabulous views and wall-to-wall plasma screens and media panels in every living area. It's all tied in to the new golf course being designed by Paul McGinley. The 'control room' of this house looked like a NASA launch centre with at least 3 banks of electrics, air con unit, boiler and underfloor heating system...
..anyway it was interesting to see what kind of place you can get for almost €2 million these days.
On our way home we stopped into the Aughrim Hall showhouses which were not quite as pricey :). It's still hard to believe that almost 40 houses now stand on the 7 or so acres that used to be part of our farm.

Wait. You sold part of the Agar farm? Is that after or before I visited you?
yes my dear! Do you remember the field beside the house where the organic farm guys were working? Well there now stands an estate....
The organic farmers have leased the rest of the farm and are doing a great trade :)
