London baby!
When I eventually caught my flight (6.30am to Stanstead) I had a lovely weekend in London with Claire.
We spent Saturday afternoon, along with her sister-in-law Janet, in town having a Benefit makeover and indulging in some browsing in Selfridges. That evening we headed out for dinner in Belgo in Camden Town and despite almost being scuppered by a hedonistic chocolate dessert we went for a couple of drinks in the Buck's Head bar.
On our way homeward, Claire spotted a small cocktail bar called the Sneaky Peach which Janet had mentioned served rather nice cocktails. The door was open so we decided to have one for the road...and ended up basically barging our way into a lock-in with the bar owners....
After much banter, we wandered homeward at 4.30 am.
Needless to say, our run on Hamstead Heath on Sunday was postponed and we pretty much wandered through the rainy Sunday in a hungover daze. I hauled myself out of my hungover state to meet Michelle and Rich for dinner that evening. It was great to see them and catch up with all the news of the latest 'Mountie' wedding, amongst other things.
Poor Rich was struck down on Sunday evening so Monday dawned with Michelle and I wading through the puddles to take the Big Red tourist bus around London town. Being the touristy types we ended up purchasing 'adorable' photo fridge magnets commemorating our Thames river cruise.
