Warning lights...

..aplenty this week as not 4 months after having finally paid off my car loan and gotten through the NCT with flying colours the first wee blinking warning light appeared on my dashboard....something that looked like a yellow curly springroll, but upon consulting the VW Owners Manual, it was actually something to do the with the engine management/exhaust system....and apparently was "serious".

So....I drove on regardless to work and upon further research (i.e. consult the internet) discovered that the VW Polo's electrics are notorious and a blinking warning light either means "Get thee to an authorised VW dealer forthwith' or "Don't worry about it love, it could be a simple electrical short circuit". I chose to believe the latter as the light disappeared after some stop-start rush hour commute to soccer and hasn't come back on since....

.....nor has the engine exploded or fallen out of the car....
