Captain Crunch and steep stone steps!

THURS OCTOBER 11
Today we decided 'to hell with the overcast weather', and drove to Green Mountain National Park to take a hike up what we come to refer to 'lovingly' as the STEEP STONE STEPS (SSS) to Harmon Hill. While this wasn't a particularly arduous trip, the stone steps were steep and also SLIPPY, so we did need to be extra careful. Michelle took on 15 of these SSS, before remembering the Iceline Trail* and hastily beating a retreat back to the car and into Bennington for a hot chocolate.

Rich and I continued through lovely sheltered forest trails until we reached the top of Harmon Hill. Unfortunately, the cloud level was too low to afford any sort of a view of the surrounds, so signing the trail book and 1 self portrait later (Rich proves to be the king of the self portrait!), we headed back down the SSS to Michelle.

Today is also Rich and Michelle's 4th wedding anniversary. I am not allowed to forget the fact that I missed their 'kick-ass' wedding, which was in Vermont, not far from Shaftsbury, so instead we go out for a very nice 'wedding' dinner to 'The Perfect Wife' restaurant in Manchester.

Today I discover the wonderous cereal that is C'pn Crunch. It's hyperactivity in a box basically. Simply mix the sweet crunchy oat cereal with multi-coloured, fruit-flavoured corn baubles and hey presto! instant sweet, sweet, delicious cereal.

Sigh, I would be 8-foot wide and a half hundredweight if I lived in this country full-time....

*The Iceline Trail - scene of a famous meltdown by Michelle on our Canadian Mountie trip all those years ago. Still spoken of by Trek America guides as a warning before setting off on said trail.

Oh that is hysterical. The iceline cometh. I was having visions of Meghan threatening to get a helicopter to come rescue me. You did an amazing job blogging your Vermont vacation. We miss you lots and lots.
